Our Data Sources & Methodology
MahaFind's data is sourced from authoritative public records and kept current through regular update cycles:
- Pincode data — India Post's official pincode directory published by the Department of Posts, Government of India.
- IFSC data — Reserve Bank of India's IFSC master list, the definitive registry of all bank branch codes in India.
- DIGIPIN — Algorithm specification published by India Post for the DIGIPIN geocoding system (2024).
- GPS coordinates — Cross-referenced from India Post's published branch location data.
We run regular data validation checks to identify and correct stale records — for example, post offices that have been reclassified, renamed, or newly established. Users can also report discrepancies using the feedback form on any detail page, which are reviewed and corrected by our editorial team.
